Sgeul / Story at the National Library of Scotland
Sgeul / Story at the National Library of Scotland presents a bilingual exhibition in Gaelic and English, exploring the nation's tales and storytelling traditions.
Focused on the renowned 19th-century folklorist John Francis Campbell of Islay, known for collecting Scottish Gaelic folktales, the exhibit highlights how stories are shared and preserved by tradition bearers across generations. As designer and illustrator I combined the enchanting small watercolour paintings by John Francis Campbell with vibrant, expansive color washes. This fusion resulted in captivating and immersive thematic backdrops to enhance the interpretation.
